Destination Dinner Groups

Let's eat out tonight! As part of a Destination Dinners group, you'll enjoy some of the area's best restaurants - with built-in dinner conversation! Group members take turns choosing the restaurant sand hosting the group for pre-restaurant appetizers. Groups usually try to meet every six weeks. Members are grouped according to shared interests. Reach out to our Dinner Groups Chairperson to get started in finding a group.

Health and Wellness

Need an exercise buddy to get you motivated? The Health & Wellness Committee can help you find the right person to join you for those early morning runs, afternoon power walks, or workouts at the gym. Our Health and Wellness Chairperson can get you started.

Evening Run and Wellness Presentation

Dig out your running gear and join us for an evening 5K run through Wilton!

We'll meet at 6:45 p.m. at the home of Nancy Capelle and start our run at 7:00 p.m. sharp! Cory Lee, WNC Sponsorship Chair and avid marathoner, will guide us through the beautiful streets of Wilton. Please wear light colored clothing and bring a flashlight.

We will return of the Capelle house for socializing, relaxing and refueling! Dr. Christa Campbell, Wellness Mentor, Community-Health Speaker and seasoned "Nervous System Coach", of Wilton Community Chiropractic will also join us.

Dr. Campbell will give her signature talk, "21st Century Health Care - An Alternative Approach to Optimal Health". We will learn how we can naturally improve our health, lifestyle and productivity!

Helping Hands

Want to lend a hand? In need of one? Helping Hands is ready and willing to help. We will arrange for meals, childcare, rides, shopping, or other assistance for anyone in need - no matter what the cause (e.g., birth of a baby, personal injury, or loss). Just email the committee chair if you need Helping Hands or know someone in who does. It’s always greatly appreciated!

Love a great home-cooked meal? Join one of our In-Home Dinner Groups! You don't have to be a gourmet cook, just willing follow a recipe (recipes are provided). Or, if you're not comfortable cooking, there's always a need for wine and bread. Each dinner has a theme and is held at a different house. Morning Coffees

The Club hosts a monthly Morning Coffee at a member’s home on the second Tuesday of the month. These informal gatherings are a great way for members new and old to meet and mingle and enjoy good conversation. Potential members are welcome to attend at no charge.  Childcare will be provided (please reserve childcare in advance). Check the calendar or email our Morning Coffee's Chairperson for additional dates and information.

Playgroups

Interested in having your child socialize while you can too? WNC organizes weekly playgroups for children in the same age range. The playgroups offer a fun opportunity for both parent and child to get out and make new friends. Whether your group meets at the playground, the museum, or a member’s home, it’s enjoyable for all. The kick-off "play-date" is held at Merwin Meadows.

Playgroups are forming now.  Here's how to get in on the fun:
Complete a registration form - with information about you and your child.  Complete and mail the form included in the newsletter or fill one out at the Activities Fair on 9/7.
Meet your new playgroup on Wednesday, 10/3 from 10am-11am at Merwin Meadows! *Raindate: 10/5. If you cannot make it contact Julie Hughes, who will email you your playgroup info.

Scrap Booking

Come to a Scrapbooking meeting and get inspired to organize your precious family photographs into beautiful memory albums while socializing with other Newcomers! All members are welcome, whether or not you're experienced at scrapbooking. Materials ― including cutting materials, tape runners, and pens ― and snacks will be provided; an experienced scrapbooker will share ideas and provide guidance.

February scrapbooking meeting will be February 6 and February 26 (both from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) at a cost of $10 each and February 10 (from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.) at a cost of $15.  Meetings will be held at 34 Cobblestone Place.

Ladies' Tennis

Come play tennis on Friday mornings - everyone is welcome, no matter what your skill level! The 2007-2008 WNC Women's Doubles Tennis season runs from September through May. Full shares and 1/2 shares are available.

Working Moms

Don’t have an opportunity to attend a Morning Coffee but still looking to make new friends? Working Mom’s is comprised of members who are balancing work and family and life in Wilton. From full-time to volunteer participants can relate to the unique demands of this lifestyle. The group provides opportunities – scheduled at convenient times – to network, mingle, learn and share resources. Our co-chairs are happy to get you some more information.

Evening Get-Togethers

Evening Get-togethers provide a relaxed opportunity for members to get out in the evening and socialize. Hosted at a Club member’s home, each Evening Get-together is B.Y.O.B. and guests bring an appetizer for six to eight. Evening Get-togethers are one of the easiest and most popular activities.

Family Events / Tot Time

Family Events offers the whole family a way to enjoy time together while engaging in festive activities with other members. Geared toward the big holidays, i.e. Halloween, Valentine’s Day, and Easter, events feature food, arts and crafts, activities and entertainment.

Fundraising Events

Each season, WNC organizes a fundraising event. Proceeds from the event are donated to a charitable Wilton organization on a voluntary basis. Past recipients include; Merwin Meadows to assist with the building of the new playground, Trackside and the Volunteer Ambulance Core.

Enjoy going out on the town with just the “girls”? Ladies’ Night out is the perfect fit. Whether it’s a spa night or salon styling blow out these events are always fun and a great way to get out, laugh and make new friends.

Luncheons

WNC hosts a luncheon at a club member’s home five to six times per year. The luncheons, whether catered or potluck, are a great way to socialize and make new friends. A formal Holiday luncheon is a long-standing WNC tradition.

WNC organizes key parties several times throughout the season.  There is a formal Holiday Party and other festive theme-parties including the popular Oktober fest.  These are some of the most anticipated events of the season!

Certainly! You are welcome to attend one event before joining.
The Prospective Member Chairperson will usually invite you to either a morning coffee or an evening get-together.
